About This Event
The two courses (9.5 and 3.4 miles) are well marked, tour the scenic Groton Town Forest, and have no road crossings. They are a combination of narrow dirt roads and winding single lane trails, with lots of roots, rocks, leaves, uphills, and downhills. The hills are not large (though some are steep) but they offer a distinct challenge. The shorter course offers a good introduction to trail racing for the beginner and the experienced runner will be challenged by the longer course.
Waiver and Release
I accept full responsibility for myself and for any injuries that I may incur during the running of the Groton Town Forest Trail Run. I fully understand that participating in this event may be dangerous to my health. Sprained ankles, cuts, bruises, and broken bones are real possibilities. Medical assistance may be delayed as much as an hour or so in spots that are remote or rugged. I hereby for myself, heirs, executors, and assigns, waive and release any and all rights and claims for any and all injuries suffered by me, however incurred or sustained, against the organizers, landowners, the Town of Groton, the Squannacook River Runners, The West Groton Water District, or any volunteer or race helper. I attest that I am physically fit, I understand the difficulties and hazards of trail running, I have trained sufficiently for the completion of this event, and my actions, mishaps, and medical costs are accountable to no one but myself.
